Brampton Golf Club

Brampton offers many things; an incredible variety of holes, a heathland course that plays all year round, spectacular scenery of the nearby Pennine Fells, the Lake District peaks and all the way to Scotland and a particularly friendly welcome. This is a James Braid original design and the challenge that remains today is one that will test both your game and legs though neither ought to be over taxing.

The panoramic views from the clubhouse should definitely be sampled where you can enjoy some pre-round food and an aspect of the par-3 1st, one of nine holes on the clubhouse side of the road. These are the holes that have given Brampton the label of a 'mini Gleneagles’ while the other side of the road are the more rugged, quirky and spectacular holes. The 8th may be many visitors’ stand-out hole, with an elevated tee with views for miles around and the opportunity to drive a short par 4, otherwise the glacial lake of Talkin Tarn provides a beautiful backdrop to a collection of holes.

The last three holes are particularly thrilling with the chance to take on another par 4 and 5 before a closing hole that brilliantly bookends the course. Brampton is the proverbial hidden gem that offers exceptional value and a great day out.
