Maryport Golf Club

Nestled on the Cumbria coastline between the Solway Firth and the Cumbria Fells, Maryport Golf Club is one of the best kept secrets of Cumbrian Golfers. The 18-hole golf course is being recognised as one of Cumbria’s hidden gems and is unique in its offering, the course at Maryport has 9 tricky links holes and 9 more forgiving holes of parkland golf for you to enjoy.

The first three holes provide a great challenge to any card, made all the more tricky depending on the wind direction. Sprinkled with gorse, narrow fairways and out of bounds running along the coastline, these holes require precision accuracy.

Our signature hole is the par 4 fifteenth, the hardest hole on the course, and for good reason! Upon first inspection this par 4 looks straight forward, but with out of bounds to the left and thick shrubbery to the right and a green that runs away in all directions, you are doing well to make the green in 2, especially if the prevailing wind is against you!

The final hole will see you drive toward the clubhouse; one of our shorter par 4’s, where you’ll reach the green and be subject to the critique from those in the nineteenth hole! Depending on the success of your round, we would love to help you celebrate or drown your sorrows in our quaint clubhouse with one of the friendliest West-Cumbrian welcomes around!

Proud to have hosted the Cumbrian Men’s County Championships in 2020 and the Senior Men’s County Championships in 2021; our course has been favoured on the highest of county stages!

Golf at Maryport is available and open to visitors and members all year round. It is very rare for our whole golf course to be closed; the weather has to be really, really bad to close us!
