The Old Ginn House Inn

The Old Ginn House Inn is situated in the small village of Great Clifton in the Western Lake District.

It is close to the towns of Cockermouth, Workington, Whitehaven and Maryport, the Lake District UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the natural beauty of the Solway Coast.

The Old Ginn House has been converted from a 17th century farmstead into a charming village Inn, built around an appealing courtyard and patio area, with ample free parking facilities.

The Main Bar is the Ginn Room after which the Inn has been named.

This unique rounded room where, in bygone times, horses walked around turning the grindstone to crush the crops, known as ‘ginning’, offers a good selection of soft drinks, wines, spirits including a variety of local gins, and local Cumbrian Craft Ales.

Family run, with quality en-suite accommodation, a Holiday Let, and excellent food served in our unique 'Ginn Room' bar and dining areas, our aim is to ensure you have a most relaxing and enjoyable visit.
