Located on the Solway Coast this charming property is close to the beach, promenade, the famous green hosting a variety of activities during the summer and it’s handy for shops and amenities including outdoor tennis courts, amusements, a motorcycle museum, good bars and cafés, a supermarket, and it’s home to one of the top 100 golf courses in England, so bring your clubs if you fancy a round, but be sure to book well in advance.

Silloth has an interesting man-made harbour, excellent coastal walking and is very near to the start of Hadrian’s Long-Distance Cycleway for 26 miles of traffic-free cycling. The docks at Silloth are over 150 years old. Beyond the docks, West Silloth Beach has a delightful expanse of clean sand, backed by dunes, and is teeming with interesting animal and plant life. Porpoises are sometimes spotted not far from the promenade which stretches out towards Skinburness. In winter a wide variety of migrant birds visit the nearby saltmarshes and the nearby RSPB Solway Wetlands Centre is ideal for bird lovers.

There are fine views across the Solway Firth towards the hills of Southern Scotland and you can enjoy many other attractions and places to visit in the area including Maryport, Cockermouth, the Northern Lakes, Hadrian’s Wall and even Southern Scotland. Of course, being in Cumbria, you can easily explore The Lake District National Park, climb the highest mountain in England and take a cruise on many of the famous lakes in the region.
